J as Jacket potatoes

Jacket Potatoes recipe by our ambassador Alex:

  • potatoes
  • salted butter
Wash the potatoes and place in the oven at about 190 degrees for more than an hour. At the touch should be soft and pliable, with a thick skin. Much depends on the size and type of potato, if not an hour is sufficient, leave them in the oven for another 10-15 minutes taking care to avoid that the pulp is too dry. Immediately freshly baked, serve them directly into the pot and cut a cross on top. Squeezing a bit 'on the sides will create a space in which to place the butter salt and / or your favorite side dish.

In our cooking trip around the European Community countries, Jacket potatoes represent United Kingdom.
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Britain, is a sovereign state located off the north-western coast of continental Europe. The country includes the island of Great Britain, the north-eastern part of the island of Ireland, and many smaller islands. Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK that shares a land border with another state—the Republic of Ireland.Apart from this land border, the UK is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean in the west and north, the North Sea in the east, the English Channel in the south, and the Irish Sea in the west.
